The School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering is looking to recruit three student casual workers to work as a team coordinating a series of guest lectures across all three disciplines to run in the Spring semester 2025-26. Ideally candidates will be from each of the programme areas (Mechanical, Aerospace, and Civil and Structural).
The Student Coordinators would be responsible for:
- Maintaining a list of potential guest speakers
- Contacting potential guest speakers, building a positive working relationship and arranging a convenient time for them to visit.
- Liaising with the timetabling team to book rooms
- Promoting the guest lectures to students.
- Feeding back on the process and recommending improvements to increase engagement from students.
The role is ideal for students who are organised, have good communication skills and have links to the wider student body. Involvement in relevant student societies will be beneficial, but is not required.
