Module: SPR227 Social Research Design and Methods

Semester: Spring

1 Seminar Group + Marking + workshop support

Dates & times of seminars, and any relevant marking deadlines will be confirmed by the module convenor in advance of the teaching.

Teaching & prep hours: 1hr per hour of teaching + 3hrs per teaching week for prep

Marking hours (1 seminar group): exams & essays 30 mins per script, presentations time + 30 mins

Other hours: 2hrs per teaching week for feedback and consultation

Training hours: up to 10 hours to include induction, SRDS and CPD will be set up on a separate contract for all GTAs

***IMPORTANT***

Your hiring manager should provide you with a schedule of work in advance of your start date, this will include a summary of the work you are expected to undertake, including how much time has been allocated for you to deliver this work. If you have not received this, please contact them directly. 

If you wish to discuss any specific needs you may have to apply for or undertake GTA work at the University of Sheffield, please contact your hiring manager in the first instance.

The University recommends that all full-time students do not work more than 16 hours per week during term time so that you can devote sufficient time to your studies.

International Students – Please check your visa entitlement to work in the UK during your studies. The majority of International Students are allowed to work in term time as long as the total work does not exceed 20 hours per week.
